Dr. Peter S. Craighead
A retired Radiation Oncologist with extensive experience running a clinical practice, filling senior healthcare leadership roles and training over 150 emerging healthcare leaders over the past ten years, Peter now applies his passion for mentorship to leadership coaching.
From 1997 to 2015, Peter worked in a number of leadership positions in Calgary including Head of Radiation Oncology, Cancer Centre Director, and Academic Head of Oncology at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. He has also been in national leadership with the South African Society of Radiotherapists; Canadian Association of Radiation Oncologists; and was Chair of the Canadian Cervix Cancer working group between 1998 and 2013.
During his tenure as Cancer Centre Director, he developed a skills training program for emerging leaders, which has since prepared more than 300 young leaders for leadership roles. This same module was used for training emerging leaders at workshops for the Canadian Association of Radiation Oncology and the Canadian Society of Bone Marrow Transplantation. He established a leadership development academy in 2020 prior to retiring from clinical practice.
Peter is happy to continue coaching, consulting and assisting healthcare leaders across Canada to develop self-awareness and create their vision for the future. He enjoys painting and writing, fulfilling his creative nature. He is married with two adult children
